So, I thought the characters in book 4 didn't communicate well....this one was way worse.This is the story of Gabriella and Kyle. First off, I think the timeline may have been a little off in this one (although I'm not certain). I felt like Gabriella was introduced much earlier in book 1 than it appears she should have been, but maybe not.
All of these books are instalove books - these people barely know one another more than a day or three before deciding they are in love..and in this instance, she knew nothing about Kyle. I don't know. It just didn't work.

Whether it is a Marietta, Montana or a SEALS book, I know it is going to be an awesome and exciting book. Each one I read gets better and better. Thank You all who writes these enchanting stories.
Gabriella has bought a diner sight unseen. She drives from Texas to Montana with her teenage daughter, a cat and a dog to make a new start. Her new neighbor is Kyle -- a better than good looking EMT. The attraction is instantaneous although the first meeting is more than awkward. But there are secrets on both sides. I mean, would you tell a person everything about yourself on your first meeting? Or even the second? But, then when they don't tell each other all, it becomes harder to say.
The town of Marietta is pulling together to open a center for the kids -- a safe place to go after school. It's going to be called Harry's House in honor of one of their friends who died too young. One of the fund raisers is a calendar of Harry's friends -- all local guys. I still am not sure exactly what happened to Harry. So, I'm going to need to read the first 4 books to find that out.
I have read Patricia Fischer's other books (Tuscany series and Weighting For Mr. Right) and always find her writing to be uplifting and packed with a great deal of humor. One of the things I love is how a character thinks something and hopes they didn't say it out loud. The end has a nice twist because a person you would not even think of makes things right. This book will leave you feeling good about Marietta. And also you will be hungry for a spicy brownie.
Kyle and Gabriela' s story is one full of waiting for the "shoe to drop". Lots of good background information and also some lessons learned on all sides.
A great addition to this series. With only stories so far on five of the calendar men, I can only hope there will more coming in the future and will be sure to watch for them!
Another book I couldn't bother finishing. This is well-written enough, and the characters are interesting enough, but they were so fixated on sexual attraction that I got bored halfway through. Add to that the overdone "Secrets are a deal-breaker" -- "I hope she doesn't find out" plot and I decided I'd rather clean the bathroom. While this author shows promise, her skills need a lot of work before I will want to read another book by her.
Burning With Desire is a fantastic contemporary romance by Patricia W. Fischer. Ms. Fischer has delivered a book that is well-written and loaded with amazing characters. Gabriella and her adopted daughter move to Marietta where Gabriella has bought a diner. Kyle is a firefighter and is their neighbor. Gabriella and Kyle's story is loaded with drama, humor, smokin' hot sexy bits and a bit of suspense. I enjoyed reading Burning With Desire and look forward to reading more from Patricia W. Fischer in the future. Burning With Desire is book 5 of the Men of Marietta Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I loved the journey of Gabby and Kyle, as they slowly work on their HEA. Trinity was sweet once she got over her insecurities. I love small towns; I actually grew up in one myself, so I can totally relate. And Marietta is just like the small town I grew up in, in that everyone in the town is so welcoming and warm, even to those they see as outsiders, initially. Everyone in town has your back when things are bad, and they cheer you on when things are going your way.
This story was so wonderful and very heart-warming. It makes me want to live there, and become friends with everyone we've met. This is a story that will pull on your heart-strings, at first. But by the end, it will have filled your heart with so much joy and happiness.
This was a wonderful conclusion to the Men of Marietta series.

Gabriella is the new owner of the diner in Marietta, and she and her teenage daughter, Trinity, move in next door to Kyle, a first responder who is part of the calendar fundraiser.
Kyle is hiding secrets about his past and his family. He's just trying to stay as low profile as possible and have a normal life. But the publicity of the calendar may cause that to blow up in his face. Gabriella and Kyle have chemistry and a spark right from the beginning. I loved how these two were with each other, and with Trinity.
